FRUIT LOOPS FILM FESTIVAL
Hi there! We are very excited to host our first film festival in the HRMS Auditorium on May 15th from 2-4PM. We will be showcasing short films made by our art and theatre students! We are also inviting community members, young and old, to submit short films to show too. You’ll find submission guidelines, tips for making a short film, and some links to inspiration. We can’t wait to see what you make!
How to Submit:
When your short film is ready, please fill out the google form and upload your video to our DropBox folder.
Rules:
One submission per person (yes you can participate on someone else’s and submit your own)
Film length must be 2 minutes or less
Must be created by kids or with kids (ALL AGES) in mind.
Audio and footage should be clear and easy to follow (the best that you can!) Watch your video and make sure your audio is clear and you are happy with what you made. We want you put your best foot forward! We also love bloopers...
No content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive, tortuous, defamatory, vulgar, libelous, cruel, or invasive of another’s privacy.
We reserve the right to not include any films that do not comply with the rules above. If that happens, we will notify you and explain our reasoning. We hope to show everything that is submitted!
Tips for creating a short film:
Choose a strong, core idea
Write a storyboard or simple script
Gather your friends and family to help!
Choose equipment for filming (use the best camera you have at your house!) and think about how you will transfer that footage to a computer or iPad for editing.
Film in short segments (unless you are going for a one - take!)
Grab it from different angles and get at least a few takes
Check footage for lighting and audio.
Take breaks, eat snacks, laugh, and have fun!
