What is Fruit Loops Art Center?

Fruit Loops Art Center is Hood River's art hub for kids (and their adults) to have fun, be creative, and keep the mess off your own floors. We're providing process art experiences with separate areas of the center dedicated to different art mediums (clay, painting, drawing, building, kitsch projects, handicrafts, etc) and an openness for every artist to explore as much as they'd like.

About the Co-Founders

Grace Poulsen has a Master's of Fine Arts and a business degree. She has created several community art projects in past where she has lived. Since living in Hood River for the last two years with her husband and three daughters she has experienced the need for an open play, process art center for the community. She is an advocate of experiencing art in all forms—especially kitsch and handicraft—and loves all things nostalgic.

Emily Manning has a degree in Recreation Management and has dabbled in several small businesses including professional photography and a handmade children's clothing line. After traveling the world for a year, and then traveling the western US in a renovated transit bus, she and her husband found Hood River and have lived here for the last five years with their children. Most recently she involves herself in the community managing the Crag Rat Hut venue, and volunteering with The Fistula Project Kitovu.

Both Grace and Emily are dedicated to the Columbia Gorge community and are eager to build an indoor activity center relevant to the needs of their families and the community at large!
